Overview
Raise Up 'n' Represent is a programme provided for youth by youth. The Raise Up Crew is the key part of the youth voice for the community.
It’s the beginning of something new and something great!
Raise up 'n’ Represent is a youth programme which provides a safe and healthy environment in which youth can socialise, relax and achieve their goals. This includes a mixture of regular activities, an event at least once per term and a selection of workshops and personal development options. All these events and activities are decided by what youth would like to participate within the region.
Established in Auckland in 2002, Raise Up has built on the long and successful history YMCA has working with youth in local communities.
How do I get involved?
Currently we are working on recruiting our first ‘Raise Up Crew’ which will be a selected group of young people representing different demographics of the community. They will be the organising committee and driving force behind many of the events and activities we will operate in the future.
- If you are between the ages of 13 – 18?
- Do you enjoy and/or want to meet new people?
- Would you like to learn some new skills?
- Would you like to give back to your community?
- Do you want to have FUN?
If you're interested or would like more information, please contact Gerry at the YMCA for application details.
If you don’t want to be part of the crew no worries! You can still play an important role by coming and supporting our events and having heaps of FUN!

Child Youth and Family Supervision Programme
At Youth 4 Youth we work alongside Child Youth and Family (CYF) to help support young people in need of supervision or just a safe place to hang out and share in some one on one time with one of our dedicated youth workers. This may involve picking up the young person from school or from home and assisting them complete their homework, learn life skills, have some fun and/or develop ways of coping in order to try and get them back on track and/or back into school on a regular basis. Our CYFs Supervision Programmes are personalised towards helping the young person take control of their lives and allowing them a safe and secure environment for them to reach their true potential. Often our CYFs Supervision Programmes simply allow the young person involved the opportunity to recognise their strengths and in turn build the confidence and resilience to move their lives forward positively for both them, their families and friends.
